Lumpy Ridge
Lumpy Ridge not quite towers over Estes Park from the North. A lot
of nice granite, most of the climbs being multi-pitch. We did climbs
close to the Twin Owls parking area, in order to lessen the approaches,
which actually turned out to be hard, as we got lost a couple of times.
The highlight was the continuous view of Longs Peak and the other RMNP
peaks, makes a nice backdrop for the climbs.
We did :
- The Rock One Route (5.4) -- not that much fun
- Organ Pipes (5.6) -- second pitch much better than the first
- Tree Crack ** (5.5) -- would get three stars if not for the approach
