Cloud Computing and Desktop Grids
Current research projects:
Clouds@home: A project funded by
the national French science foundation (called ANR) for running complex
services and applications over unreliable (Internet) resources. I serve as
the principle investigator of this project. This project is in
collaboration with the INRIA MOAIS, GRAAL and Grand-Large teams, and also
UC Berkeley.
Failure Trace Archive: The
Failure
Trace Archive (FTA) is centralized public repository of
availability
traces of parallel and distributed systems, and tools for their
analysis. The purpose of this archive is to facilitate the design,
validation, and comparison of fault-tolerant models and algorithms.
XtremLab : A
BOINC-based project for characterizing resources in desktop grid and
volunteer computing environments.
Desktop Grid
Simulator called SimBOINC: A simulator for large-scale volatile
desktop grid resources.
BTW, if you do research related to desktop grids, global
computing, p2p computing, or volunteer computing, please consider
submitting a paper to the Journal of Grid Computing's special issue on
Volunteer Computing and Desktop Grids. Desktop
