Brief Update -- 8/25/96
- From Qiu Longbao:
I got my PhD in chemistry last August, and worked several temp jobs since. I
just got a permanent job at Rollins Environmental Services, Inc. and I am now
going back to U. of Houston for an MBA as a part time student, taking evening
classes. It may take me a lot of years to finish the 54 credit hours, since I
am taking one course per semester.
-
Liu Junhe has finally graduated and
is now working for Netscape , in
the Developer Relations Group. He hopes to contribute to a democratic
society by joining a rival of Microsoft's.
- Li Junjie is living really high
in New York City. His office is at 22nd floor, overlooking NY Harbore.
His apartment, however, is even higher. He lives at the 36nd floor of
a high rise overlooking Times Squire. If that doesn't impress you,
you should take a look at his night life ... I thought I had seen everything
:-)
- There is another EFZ 84er who lives in NY and is often overlooked -- Chen Meixiao. She and her husband are helping
her sister-in-law with her fledeling garment business. Her sister-in-law,
who happened to be a very successful lawyer, started a business five years
ago and is the owner of the fastest growing Chinese company in America with
$25 million dollars in revenue. Hmm ... do they need a website now?
- Oops, almost forgot the most important piece of news about Chen Meixiao . Her daughter is now SIX years old and is extremely cute.
- Mary Mi's father just drove three days
to San Antonio, where
he claimed the best beach is only an hour away. He left his mother with his
wife in DC.
- "Xing Ming Wan Bao", "Jie Fang Ri Bao" etc. are on line now at
http://china-window.com/shanghai/
- Cheng Qinhe: Where are you?
Send us some mail! By the way,
Cheng Qinhe is probably the best basketball player in EFZ84 now. In an
all Chinese basketball tournament in Rutgers last month, he single-handedly
carried his team and defeated a team which featured a former member of the
Taiwan National Basketball Team.
- Amao and I have put some EFZ84 photos on line. Enjoy.
Please mail me something about you if you feel like, or something about others, too.
