address is:
1395 W. Jessamine Ave.

By the way, I have successfully defended my dissertation. I am a Doctor,
finally.
- Graduation speech
I recently came across two graduation speeches that are quite interesting. Do you remember what was said in our commencement in 1984? I remember we had a lot of red sausage and beer afterwards, but forgot who gave us the speech and said what. If you happen to remember, let me know so perhaps I can add it to our collection. Or better yet, send me what you think should be said and we can pass it along to our young alumni. I'll strip your names off if you prefer.

Who says a dream won't come true?
After a year of sweet romance, Mi Qun and his girl friend decide to culminate their relationship with a formal wedding. It will happen next june and they are still searching for a wedding site. Some one has suggested Las Vegas but Mi Qun, being a good boy, shot it down. However if you have some better ideas, please let him know. You might get some more bags of wedding candy.
- One fewer pair of Niu(\/) Lang(/) Zhi(-) Nu(\/)
In our high school time, we often heard the phrase: the hard working and brave Chinese woman. Now in the US, among our EFZ84ers, we already see some great embodiment. Wang Yi Li has been working full time and raising her daughter all alone when her husband was in Tokyo. She did it for a full year. That's definitely worth some three/eight woman's award. The good news is that the tortuous time has finally come to an end. Wang Yi Li will join her husband in New York breathing money on Wall Street from now on. Her new phone number is: (201) 222-1098.
- EFZ's Mar connection
We all know that the US sent a small vehicle to Planet Mar two weeks ago. What some of us don't know is that the agency responsible for the Mar project, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory(JPL), hired Lu Wenwen right before the little rover landed. JPL is smart. Who knows what could have happened had they not hired our brilliant scientist? Lu Wenwen is now skiing in Switzerland again.
- Another scientist
Remember in high school, many of us swore that we would devote ourselves to science? Well, few of us are actually doing anything remotely related to scientific research. Besides Lu Wenwen and Li Chenjian, Mi Zihou is another one who has kept his promise. He is now working for National Institute of Health, whose employess often win Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. Mi Zihou's new email address is: zmi@atlas.niaid.nih.gov.
- Rumor mill update
Chen Jiamin has indeed come to the U.S. and we had another Bay Area reunion with him. The reunion was held in Cheng Zong Jian's house and the dinner was stately. Speaking of stateliness, Wang(-) Wei(\/) joined the Bay Area folks in the reunion and gave Chen Jiamin some very official welcome. Chen Jiamin is now touring the east coast with his wife. He will be back to the west coast in early August.
- Reunion update
As it stands now, there are six people that have signed up for the reunion in next May -- Mi Zihou, Jiang Ying, Wang Jin, Junhe Liu, Mao Qihua, and Lao Fat. Let's do it! It's going to be a lot of fun!!
- Zhou Hong Xin (Robert) has changed his contact info
- Important !!
I am thinking of adding frames to this web site, but frames won't work on Netscape 1.0 or Internet Explorer 1.0. Could you let me know if you are still using those versions of the browsers? I'll try to persuade you to upgrade. Also the "report change" form might not have worked for you. I have just fixed it and it should be OK now. Sorry about the grief resulted from using it
- Kang Lie
I came to US last year to pursue an MBA at Washington University in St. Louis., MO. I got married last May with Xiaoyi Liu, a girl from Changsha who I met while working in Guangzhou. Prior to my coming to US, I had been working for a US software company (Fourth Shift) in Guangzhou and Shanghai.

News from Qiu Long Bao:
My company just went through a merger with a Canadian competitor, the name changed, probably you can tell by the address did not change. The two e-mail address at U. of Houston is no longer valid. Being tired of driving 90 miles per day just
to compute back and forth to work, I moved to live in Pasadena (not in Californ
ia, but a small town about 15 miles southeast of Houston) to be closer to work.
If someone wants to send mail to me (not very likely), please send to my P.O Box
address as the following:
P.O. Box 5045
Pasadena, TX
