• Took the role as the sole Java developer of MagicFax.  Determined the layout and implemented all Java user interfaces.  Designed the communication protocol between Java clients and Netscape server-side Plug-Ins via HTTP. All Java clients were enabled with multi-threading capacity.  MagicFax is an enterprise fax solution which dramatically reduce corporate fax expense by routing fax document through the Web.
• Performed internationalization of clients on Window platforms.  Set up a development framework for building international window applications.  All codes were compliant to DBCS standard.
• Implemented digital signature mechanism based on Digital Signature Standard(DSS).  The mechanism facilitated authentication and encryption of electronic document.
Software Engineer( Member of Founding Team)  1/96 - 5/97
Xense Technology, San Francisco, CA
• Involved in the design of  DB Publisher since the very beginning stage. Implemented different components of the software including parts of the Java client and the server.  The primary development of the server was based on Window. DB Publisher is a Web-based 3-tier client/server application.  It is the first tool which brings adhoc-query capacity of database to the World Wide Web.  Through DB Publisher, non-technical users over the web can perform complicated adhoc query on local databases.
• Worked as a consultant to help Maximizer Technology Inc. to build the Java version of Maximizer, an enterprise sales force automation tool. Rebuilt the product on the Java platform.  The specification of development was based on the Window version of the product. Yet all codes were written from scratch.
Software Engineer 1/96 - 4/96
Internet Profile Corporation,  San Francisco, CA
Developed software for collecting web statistics. Performed demographic analysis on access information of web sites. This position required C and Perl programming.

Technical Support Intern  6/95 - 9/95

Taligent Technology Inc., Cupertino, CA
Provided technical support to programmers using SNiFF as a C++ developing tool.  Verified and reported bugs in SNiFF+.  Wrote different shell scripts to provide various enhancements for the tool. All developments were done on the UNIX(AIX) platform.

Programmer 5/93 - 8/93
Internal Revenue Services, Austin, TX
Upgraded all Informix-3.3 applications to Informix-SQL version in UNIX environment. Duties included modifying original codes and writing new user interfaces. Programming languages were C and SQL.

Java Experience

Two years experience of commercial Java development.  The calendar and mini-calendar components are two of the many Java components implemented.  A simplified non-commercial version of the calendar component is used on a student association's page..
