a food guide, perpetually under construction and reflective only of my own personal opinion. (its a working title--i'm still toying with a good name for this page.)
I'll update this from time to time with new, notable places I've been.

Patxi's Pizza. Palo Alto, CA
Good place for Chicago-style deep dish pizza. Better than Zachary's? Not really but if you're in the south bay and in the mood for pizza, this one's high on my list.

Manhattan
Berkeley (linked off Howard's homepage)

I don't have one for San Francisco yet but here are some top ones on the list:
Yum Yum Fish [ Sushi to go | 2181 Irving Street/ 23rd Avenue ]
Marnee Thai [ Thai | 1243 9th Avenue/Irving Street ]
Azie [ French-Asian | 826 Folsom Street/4th Street ]
Yet Wah* [ Chinese | 2140 Clement Street/23rd Avenue ]

*shameless advertising I know, but the food's still really great!
I don't pretend to know anything about this topic. I list here a few cocktails I've liked in the past for those equally inexperienced as me. Also a few cool places I've been along the way...

<< what i order >>
Midori Sour
Amaretto Sour
Apple Martini
(notice my penchant for the sweet and sour drinks?)

<< where i've been >>
Matrix (sf)
Bix (sf)
The Redwood Room (sf)
Bar 89 (nyc - this one's all about the bathrooms)
Meet (nyc)

Try this site if you're looking for the hot spots: World's Best Bars (i spent some time perusing through this as i was planning for jenn's visit in nyc back in 2003. i say this because i don't want you thinking i'm some seasoned bar hopper. the list above is really practically all i've ever been to.)

<< lindeman's framboise raspberry lambic beer >>
Okay, so this is the beer shelley introduced me to and the *only* beer i can say i have ever liked. so here it is. I'm posting this because i keep forgetting what it's called and i really don't know where to find it. If i were to describe its flavor, i'd say it tastes a bit sweet and sour. Ha. Surprise surprise.
Divulge my secret recipes? Yeah right. Instead, allow me to just provide links to some good resources:

Maybe someday i'll actually list some of my favorite recipes. (It's just a lot of work and i'm too lazy to do it!)
